Felix Fromm

Von 1997-2004 studiert Felix Fromm Posaune bei Adrian Mears und absolviert die Aufbaustudiengänge Arrangement/Komposition bei Jürgen Friedrich in Mannheim und Konzertexamen Posaune bei Prof. Henning Berg in Köln.
Von 2002-2004 ist er 1. Posaunist im BundesJazz-Orchester unter der Leitung von Peter Herbolzheimer und vertritt Deutschland 2002 im European Youth Jazz Orchestra unter der Leitung von Django Bates. 2005 gewinnt das Felix Fromm Sextett den international renommierten Jazzwettbewerb Getxo, Spanien. Es folgen Festivalauftritte in Spanien und Deutschland und die Veröffentlichung der CD „Felix Fromm Sextett: Live in Getxo“. Bis 2006 lebt Felix freiberuflich als Musiker. Seit dieser Zeit arbeitet Felix Fromm u.a. zusammen mit:
WDR Big Band, NDR Big Band, HR-Big Band, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Trombonefire,Frankfurt Jazz Orchestra, Bobby Burgees Big Band, Rainer Tempel Big Band, Mardi Gras b.b., Manfred Schoof, Markus Stockhausen, Dave Liebman, Fritz Müntzer Quintett, Peter Petrell, Ack van Rooyen, John Ruocco, Emil Mangelsdorff Quintett, Django Bates Human Chain Quartett…

Ein Stipendium der Fulbright Comission ermöglicht ihm 2006 ein Studium am Queens College in New York City. Hier erhält er Unterricht bei Steve Turre, Michael Mossman und Antonio Hart. Dank eines weiteren hochdotierten Stipendiums von der Mannhattan School of Music kann er seinen New York- Aufenthalt bis 2008 fortsetzen, um Unterricht bei Dave Liebman, Phil Markowiz und Bobby Sanabria zu nehmen.

Seit seiner Rückkehr nach Deutschland 2008 ist Felix Fromm Lehrbeauftragter für Jazzposaune in Mannheim. Er ist festes Mitglied im Sunday Night Orchestra Nürnberg, „Regensburg Jazz Orchestra“ und von „Das Blech“.
Außerdem ist er Gründer und musikalischer Leiter der Band Blassportgruppe.

Alexander Shirunov was born on the 22nd of July 1983 in Nikolsk, located in the Vologda area of Russia. He began his music studies at the age of four, and at the age of six he entered his first Music School. At this school he studied accordion, violin, piano and voice.
During his years of musical training at the Music School he became the winner of many regional contests, both as an accordionist and also a singer.
In 1998 Alexander entered the Special Secondary Music School of Saint Petersburg State Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov. Here he studied under renowned Professor Alexander Dmitriev.
In 2002 he was accepted at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory without going through the formal entry examinations, as he was one of the best graduates of the Secondary Music School and so was admitted automatically. Alexander has now completed these Conservatory studies, passing all his exams with the highest possible marks. He now plans to begin his postgraduate studies.
Recently, Alexander has participated in several International Competitions such as the World Accordion VIP Show in France, the Primus Ikaalinen in Finland as well as the Cittia di Castelfidardo Competition in Italy and the CIA Coupe Mondiale in Portugal. As part of his prize package for his recent competition success at the CIA Coupe Mondiale, Alexander has been invited to perform several concert tours, including appearances in New Zealand, Australia, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Alexander has recently recorded his first CD - 'Absolute Shirunov.' This project was sponsored by the German based company 'Intermusik' who arranged the prize after Alexander's stunning performance at the 2005 CIA Coupe Mondiale International Competition for Accordionists in Portugal. Alexander is in the process of recording his second CD in duo with Nadia Guseva. Also due for release is his DVD of a live concert in Frankfurt.

Wilhelm Zimmermann
1960-65 Musikschule in Leningrad, klassische Trompete.
1965-69 Studium im Musiklyzeum in den Fächern Trompete und Dirigieren.
1969-74 Studium an der Musikhochschule in Alma-Ata, klassische Trompete und Orchestermusik.
1970-74 Mitglied des Rundfunksinfonieorchester in Alma-Ata.
Seit 1979 Lehrer an der Städt. Musikschule in Ettlingen in den Fächern Trompete, Studienvorbereitung und Ensemblespiel.

Das Projekt Shirunov - Zimmermann ist ein Versuch, unterschiedliche Stilrichtungen zusammenzufüren, z. B. Tango, Jazz, Popmusik etc. Der passende Begriff wäre "Crossover". Als Vorlage werden Werke von A. Piazzolla, Rujierri, H.Arlen ,D. Ellington usw. verwendet.
